Am I correct in thinking the reason my system keeps crashing is because it's overheating?

If so how do I control the fan speed? I just want to max them out for the time being, would I just adjust these values?

You should be able to manually raise the fan "Duty" cycle up to 100% (full speed) or anywhere in between to balance between airflow and noise.

What CPU cooler does it have? If the case can support tower coolers, I'd put a Noctua in there. If space is a constraint, maybe consider low profile coolers or a decent AIO water cooler.... though, I personally won't use water cooling on 24/7 systems.

I had this problem with my 5950x in a kubernetes node that runs mayastor, Mayastor runs 100% on 2 threads constantly polling, so the temps were high, I had a lot of success with simply disabling turbo on the processor, as I don't need the node to be turboing up to 4.7ghz when 3.4 ghz is already faster than the other amd epyc nodes its running alongside.

Before this, it was running constantly at ~74C because of the mayastor polling threads. So, I would wonder if you're running precision boost overdrive with motherboard limits which allows it to run that hot so much.

Thanks I will give that a try. Something must be wrong with it I am not even using much more than 20% CPU usage

Maybe, but I got another machine like this no issue.

What do you suggest for 2U cooler?
Did you apply it properly? Maybe time to change the thermal paste on it?

As note the cooler is crap vs some other basic air coolers form Noctua or others in the $50 range or so

For what it's worth, I'm running my setup on a Wraith Prism cooler in a 3U chassis, with 2 80mm fans front and 2 60mm fans in the back. I've set the fans to run 100%.

Wraith Prism is actually good compared to a Wraith Stealth.

Noctua NH-L9a-AM4 will work in a X570D4U?The other fans I used on this motherboard didn't have to screw from the other side

With the backplate glued on (and I don't want to risk trying to heat it up to remove it) I think my options are limited. How is the Dynatron 224676?
