RTX 2080 TI w. 110Tflops !

Expensive for gamers but great for AI,
Compared to the $3k Titan V same performance @ 40% of the cost.

NVLink unlike the Titan V,
Rumors where right and i did not believe that Nvidia would allow NVLink on these.

I don't need it for gaming, we mostly use it for Video Rendering in colorist software programs like DaVinci, AVID, Cortex, On-Set-Dailies. Does anyone know if video rendering will be substantially increased?

No talk of AI? Normal gaming? All RT so I'm thinking it'll be an ok upgrade there.

Improvement will be a similar to Titan V performance over a 1080 ti for all software you mentioned, Its all FP32 bound and wont utilise any of the RT, Tensorcore etc. The 2080 ti is 14 tflops, and a 1080 ti is 11tflops so a small bump but it doesnt warrant an upgrade if you all ready have a 1080 ti.

I would totally wait until we see some benchmarks, it very well might turn out like Threadripper, GREAT for some loads but sucks at others.
Then wait and see how the drivers roll out for apps you are interested in.

Not quite sure of the price to performance ratio match TR compared to prior gen

Until i see some real benchmarks for current games, it's no buy. I am going to say gain for current games not going to be huge. No point getting a ray trace card right now that has no program using it..... and when there are lots of programs that do, the cards avail at that point will be cheaper and faster....

But if it will bring down 1060 to less than $170 and 1070 to less than $270 then that might be good news for everyone

Maxwell and Kepler were good step up from each prior gen. will have to see if 2080 is anything like that
