Hey All,

Since we're all posting our home racks I figured I'd jump in for some fun too!

Here's a link to the direct album

I got the full 42U rack off craigslist for $100 it's in very very good condition, came with keys to lock it too! :D

Add some super custom air filtration to the front, courtesy of Lowe's :)

And a few inlines with captions:

Very top is my 1U pfSense box
  • dual core atom D945GCLF
  • 4GB DDR2 ram
  • dual port Intel gige nic

Down one is the back side of my Netgear GSM7224v1 24 port gige switch

Then we have my fileserver:
  • Supermicro X7SPE-HF-D525 (found thanks to this site wooo!)
  • 8GB of DDR3 ram
  • Antec 900 with a lot of 3 in 4 hotswap bays
  • 12x hotswap bays....filled with 10x 2TB Samsung HD204UI
  • Running a hybrid raid 50 setup.... a large XFS LVM span over 3x 3-disk software raid5 physical volumes and 1 coldspare
  • 2x junk 300GB SATA drives that are just leftover from some old days....
  • Ubuntu 12.04.4 LTS
  • 1x Hauppage USB HVR-950Q for MythTV

Next up is my housemates' fileserver

At the very bottom, can't see them in this photo but in the album you can, there are 2x APC SmartUPS 1000 that I rebuilt....got them on ebay for like $20 each (sans batteries)

I have two APC environmental monitors one in front of the rack (intake air temperature/humidity) and one behind the super custom airflow spacers (these can be viewed in the gallery above) for exhaust temperature/humidity :D

The back of the two APCs at the bottom and my custom floor board:

I definitely have to clean up the wiring...it's a mess! I just haven't gotten around to it yet :(

Are those HVAC filter packs on your rack door?
Haha yup! The rack is outside, covered but still outside. I wanted to minimize dust intake on the boxes to help keep things marginally more clean.
