Had a delivery of a few cases with this backplane, all are missing the Buzzer from the SAS743-TQ
I've spoken to Supermicro today regarding this, the buzzer has been removed for EMI reasons (Not sure what a buzzer emmits apart from sound!)
There is no mention in the manual regarding this so I've asked them to get the PDF's updated, as the SAS backplane still has a jumper for Buzzer reset. There is a socket on there where the buzzer used to be fitted and it will accept a 5v buzzer if you want to retrofit.
This change has happened on other models of backplanes too but I could not get a list.
I found this feature useful, shame it's been removed but retrofitting a 5v buzzer resolves this.
