Good day,
I got assigned to this assignment to help a friend build a cheap rendering farm. They use mostly revit with vray and 3D max. I have been told before GPUs don't really
Help. I heard more CPU cores is better. I was thinking of using the v1 xeons that are super cheap now Adays. Any advice would be highly appreciated.
Thank you

I thought there is a vray version (RT) that worked with CUDA GPUs?

If you are just looking for cheap and cores, the E5-2660 / E5-2670 is really hard to beat.

How many nodes, what kind of networking?

Yes, vray definitely works well with newer GPUs and will be MUCH faster at ray tracing than CPU.

I am not sure --whats best this is my first time doing it. Budget is pretty tight also 2-4k max.
