Hi guys,
I have a supermicro server with an onboard LSI 2208 card.
I have it configured as follows -
Array 1 - disks 1 and 2 are part of a RAID 1 array. Operating system is running on this array.
Array 2 - disks 3 and 4 are part of a RAID 1 array. Data is on this array.
I have mega raid storage manager installed on the server so I can manage everything from there.
Basically I am running out of space on array 2 and what I want to do is break that array and just use disks 3 and 4 as stand alone disks. I understand I will be losing the benefit of redundancy but what I really need is the additional space.
I dont want to lose the data that is currently on array 2 and so I want to know if there is a way to break this array without losing data.
Can you please advise me if there is a way to do this?
