Hello Patrick and everyone else on the forum!

First off, great site, I'll be here a long time. That said, I was wondering if any of you would be interested in reviewing the relatively new Supermicro JBOD Power Board - CSE-PTJBOD-CB3. http://www.supermicro.com/manuals/other/CSE-PTJBOD-CB3.pdf

This appears to have been released late 2014 and now includes IPMI compared to the original CB1 that was reviewed here: http://www.servethehome.com/supermicro-cse-ptjbod-cb1-jbod-power-board-diy-jbod-chassis-made-easy/

These would go great with that recent Intel SAS expander deal...I'm thinking of picking one up myself but need to do more design planning first. I will need to find a way to shut down the JBOD chassis with a script if possible (power outage / running on UPS for instance).

Thanks for reading.

Brilliant! That's a massive update to the already popular Supermicro JBOD power boards.

If anyone gets their hands on one - I'd love to know what level of fan speed control you can get via IPMI.

Not to worry. Half the SM stuff we buy here has that same disclaimer. There are plenty of sellers who will sell them standalone.

I'm looking at buying a CB2 but wanted to know if anyone has got a hold of these and tried them out yet?

I just checked mine from early 2015 and they're CB1 :( I'll have to check each one to verify, but the first couple were... may just have to sell and get the latest. Glad they're not the most $ part :D

I opted for the CB1 after reading the article about the differences between them. It's going in a SC826 so wasn't sure if I needed one of those l2c cables or what it does really.

Oh, nice find.

Anyone up to see what type of offer he'll take as @ 150 that's the price of a full fledged used motherboard

Pardon my ignorance but what's the purpose of the network connection?

NM. It's the IPMI connector.
