Looking at the image it looks like there's bad onboard flash if I'm not mistaken.
I also opened it up and it has an available Flash slot which my next step is to try and put a flash module in there and load community SONiC any recommendation on versions, or does anyone have experience on installing this on the Helix4 Broadcom Chip? Any help would be awesome!
  • ASIC / Chipset: Broadcom Helix 4
  • Type: Entry-level Layer 2/3 switch silicon
  • Switch Capacity: ~88 Gbps full duplex
  • Purpose: Top-of-Rack out-of-band (OOB) management switch

Update...Looks like this runs a proprietary version of SONiC and with no Nokia support, it's nearly impossible to obtain support for this switch. Bummer! Tried loading SONiC and wasn't successful.

Hey, just yesterday while looking for some old forgotten netbox install I saw I downloaded something for this. I have no further recollection unfortunately. The only switch on my specific subcontinent is quite too expensive sadly, and the cheaper option is on a "best trusted shops" certified russian platform ;-)

anyway, for sonic:

floh@blackbox:~$ find . -type d -name "*7215*"
./git/sonic-buildimage/device/nokia/arm64-nokia_ixs7215_52xb-r0
./git/sonic-buildimage/device/nokia/arm64-nokia_ixs7215_52xb-r0/Nokia-7215-A1
./git/sonic-buildimage/device/nokia/armhf-nokia_ixs7215_52x-r0
./git/sonic-buildimage/device/nokia/armhf-nokia_ixs7215_52x-r0/Nokia-7215
./git/sonic-buildimage/platform/marvell/sonic-platform-nokia/7215
./git/sonic-buildimage/platform/marvell/sonic-platform-nokia/7215-a1

git config
url = GitHub - sonic-net/sonic-buildimage: Scripts which perform an installable binary image build for SONiC

So this should really be able to make an image for the switch. Though it'll be less cool than SR-OS? SR-Linux? for sure.
Please let me know should it work out with that image builder, I need more fake reasons to get one of the switches too.
