This is a Cisco Web Security Appliance S680, which according to Cisco specs has dual E5-2680. I believe these are just plain old x86 servers with branding on the outside and their appliance OS installed. Uses 2.5" storage form factor, and usually Cisco stuff uses LSI stuff for storage. I don't know what kind of backplane it has, and it might be a HW RAID card. But for $460, it makes for a very cheap dual E5-2680 server, it should come with RAM and HDDs and is ready to turn on. Comes with rails and console dongle too.

That's actually a C240 M3 with a different "faceplate", and a LSI 9271-8i w/ BBU inside. Good buy! I usually buy bare C240 M3s for about $200, so with 32GB ram, 2 2680s, 4.2TB SAS.. not a bad deal at all. Of course, there's still shipping to factor in...

... And unfortunately I seem to be buying stuff I don't really need right now either. But it does have a nice face plate, so I got suckered in.
Thanks (and i mean that both in thanks and also in annoyance. lol!)

Does that mean you are the one who bought it?

Yes, unfortunately. I guess I now have a backup server for the last C240 M3 I bought... thanks BLinux!

Thanks for jumping on this one, it was tempting last night and my wallet is glad it's gone this morning.

if you don't mind letting the rest of us living vicariously through you, please post pictures of your C240 M3 and tells us more about why your wallet feels lighter than ours, but it was totally worth it.. :)

Gladly! I'll post some details of the C220, C240, and the "Web Security Appliance" probably early next week once it comes in.
