Is someone able to send me a sound clip or video of their Dell idling at about 4 feet away? I woke to the sound clips online and it seems that either there’s a lot of excessive background noise or some ice playing music in the video.

The noise isn't bad. I have 3 running in a closet I could record if you want.

I’m debating on picking one up as a back up I’m placing it an office. I obviously don’t want to users to hear it four plus feet away

You will hear it 4 feet away, but very low hum. Not bad at all.

No. Like I said, I have 3 running in closet plus switches. I leave the closet door open. We watch TV in that room.

Just want to add though if you peg the CPU, the fans will scream.

They whirrr when you turn them on but mine are silent after they boot. But, I use low power processors. i3-2100t's.

I know ppl are using Noctua NF-A4x20 PWM to replace the originals. I'd like to get 2-3 of those with 32Gb still thinking if it's a good idea

I wouldn't recommend doing that with these little pizza boxes and certainly not in anything but a temp controlled environment. While at less than ~<30% CPU utilization they run cool and really quiet, there is a lot of potential heat on tap there, if you push em beyond that point

They are amazing little workhorses though
