This is an insane deal in my opinion, and I think there's a ton of value here for anyone with a moderately-sized 120V server rack. These Raritan PX3 units are fantastic.

I swear, I'm not a Raritan shill and I have no connection to the seller, but I am susceptible to hyperfixating on power distribution for my homelab.

What makes these and this deal so great?
  • Per-outlet switching and metering: see the individual power consumption of all twenty outlets and turn them on-and-off remotely.
  • Still receiving firmware updates and amazing software: web interface, APIs, SNMP, native Prometheus exporter, etc.
  • This is a hybrid SCR/relay automatic transfer switch as well. This has dual inlets, so you could use this as a UPS bypass allowing you to do UPS maintenance or replacement without taking your rack down. In my case, I'll also use it to cut over to a larger Anker battery bank for longer-term outages. Lots of possibilities.
  • I think the list price on these was over $2000. Even on eBay, this is an extremely low price. Most of the better deals are for the 1000-series units that don't have individually switched/metered outlets, or they're for 208/240V units.
Even without the ATS functionality, $200 for a brand new, modern 20-outlet PDU with individual switching and metering is an insanely good deal on its own. An SCR-based ATS (4-8ms transfer time vs. 10-12ms for APC relay-based units) is a huge bonus.

its 2U though.

being new doesnt add much, PDUs got no depletable resource. firmware upgrades too... prometheus is extra cool though.

looks cool. What’s the typical power consumption of PDU units like these out of curiosity?

Back up to $399. Who is running inventory for this company? I've never seen a more volatile listing!

FWIW, I managed to buy it at $200, received it a couple of days back, and racked it yesterday. So far so good -- nice upgrade from my CyberPower.

I recently picked up a CyberPower 81005 - switched and metered, 120V and 240V 20A- for ~$300. I have a separate CyberPower 120V ATS for critical loads.
So, not quite the $200 for combined ATS and PDU functionality. Quite the deal.
