Hello

I have bought a silverstone ECS04 card, which basically is a 9217-8i (LSA2308).
I plugged 6x6TB ironwolf pro HDDs.
Raid 0 perf is excellent (and as expected) : 1080MB/s writing. 1120MB/s reading.
But I would like a raid 10, so 3 mirrored arrays stripped together.

With the current BIOS, I only can setup RAID 10 and select my 6 drives.
The perf level is appaling : 130MBs reading and writing. I expected 500/600MBs

Am I setting the Raid 10 badly ? Can I flash to he webbios firmware ? Need I buy another card, and if yes, which one ?
Thank you

Hi ! Thank you for your very fast response !
I do believe that it's what is happening.
But I do select RAID 10 in the bios (not raid 1), nd I do have 16TB available (for 6x6TB). So his is consistent with a real RAID 10.
Here is a picture of what my bios looks like. It is not the webbios that I see on most LSI card...

Yes I can. Note this is a grab from another computer that I found on the internet. It is not a grab of my precise configuration. I can do that tomorrow, for I m not before said computer.
But when I go to raid properties, well it states RAIS 10...

Hi
Here are the screenshots
So the card is recognised as a Avago Tech SAS2, version 7.39.02.00
I have task : 0% initialized. Is that a problem ?

Your logical volume is intializing (the controller overwrites everything on the drives with zeros), this could take a few days (16tb/130mb/s ~ 34hours in best case) .

OK. Is this the cause of the low perf in RAID 10 ?
It did not make trouble with my RAID 0 test...

Hello

Some news at last.
Quite fed up with the silverstone service (it i sbased in germany for EU customers and so far they have been useless), I bought a 9261-8i for my RAID 10 needs.
I configured all 6 drives manually. I started to pair them; then I spanned the three resulting arrays. (See attached).
Now the test says 500MBs for writting, which is what I expected, but only 270MBS for writting... Is it normal, I expected 500MBS. ?

Happy new year to everyone.
