Hi Everyone,
Sorry new here and if this is the wrong spot I will move the post.
I have done a search and it seems the answers have been based around powering a gpu from the PCIE connector on the Riser.
However I have just acquired the 16 Drive R730xd (Cheap) with the big F/Off metal drive bay in the middle. I am now retiring the R630 i already have.
I have manually set the R730xd fans to 35% as this is quite a comfortable noise. 40% is just a little on the louder side and just enough to be noticeable.

I also picked up a Tesla P4 quite cheap too. I'm sure you all know where I am headed as this thing runs hotter than the surface of the sun. I have removed the top plate and strapped a 40mm 5v USB fan to it and running it from the inner USB header. This seems to drop the idle temp a little but I just want to have better cooling overall. I have 2 x 36/40mmx28mm 12v fans that Fit just nicely in between the metal cage (well SAS backplane connector) and the end of the card. They would sit there and just blow a metric F Tonne of air past the P4 and out the back.

However I am trying to find a safe place to pull 12v power from to run the 2 fans.

I have ordered and I'm sure aftermarket a 4pin to Sata power for the mini 4 pin near the sata ports. I was thinking of stealing the power from there however it hasn't arrived yet and I don't know if it is a true mini 4pin.

I also grabbed a PCIE cable that is supposed to be for GPUs however that is stupidly long and is a very tight fit and the cable coiled up kind of restricts air flow.

I guess my question is can I just grab the 1 x 12v and 1 x GND from the port on the riser cable without jumping the GND/3.3v? To run to the fans?
I have 2 SAS SSD's in the Metal tray at the moment and have 2 SAS slots spare could I use a Sata to 4pin fan cable and plug that into 1 of the spare SAS ports in the tray and use a 4pin to 2x4pin fan splitter to run to the 2 fans?

I answer some obvious answers, no I do not want to remove the drive tray as I like having the extra drive space. Also removing the drive bay would require finding the r730 Shroud and also possibly putting the taller heatsinks on the processors.

I am also looking at this 2 x NVME PCIE adapter with fan pins as i have 2 NVME I was going to use as VM storage or something.
I was also looking at this Micro 4pin Bare wire as it looks like it has the correct pinout as the one on the motherboard.

Sorry for the long post I have been trying to google search this for the last 2 weeks and can't seem to find the answer.
