Any recommendations for a quiet 16 port switch with a 10G uplink? The 10G can be fiber or copper.

I might be able to get away with 12 but I would prefer 16 1G ports.

My suggestion would be a Mikrotik CSS326 or CRS326 (slightly more expensive, but also my recommendation over CSS326), they are passive and give you 24 1G ports + 2 SFP+ 10G ports for not that much money.

I got the CSS326 and I'm fairly happy with it. But it runs SwOS that has some bad performance when traffic comes from a 10Gbps-connected device and going to a 1Gbps device. This problem was introduced in version 2.5 and is still there in 2.9. So stay on SwOS 2.4 and all is fine.

Wow , thanks . Suffer from this issue , could I downgrade 2.9 to 2.4?

I have 2x CSS326 switches. One NIB and one Open Box. They worked fine, except for VLANs. That was a nightmare.

OP, if you're looking for a CSS326 send me a PM and I'll get you pics and price.

I forgot to mention that my 10G uplink would be coming from an unmanaged switch. I'm using the QNAP.

Would you still recommend the same switch in that case since I won't be using VLANs, etc?

Yeah, it's a good switch. The only reason I'm not using it anymore is that I completely recreated my network and needed higher-level functions.
