As the title suggests, I have a few questions about the Fusion IoScale 3.2TB SSD:
  • Is this device supported in ESXi 6.5u3 and/or 6.7u3 ?
  • Will this device work without installing additional drivers ?
    • If not, where should I go to download the required drivers ?
  • What level of performance should I expect from this device ?
  • What are your suggestions for workloads this device can handle ?
I've seen other threads about similar devices, but wanted to avoid necro'ing or derailing older threads.

Is this device supported in ESXi 6.5u3 and/or 6.7u3 ?
- yes, but it uses a vmklinux driver, so everything after 6.7 is not supported.

Will this device work without installing additional drivers ?
- no. You need to install the .vib

If not, where should I go to download the required drivers ?
- you download them from the sandisk website.

What level of performance should I expect from this device ?
- i get about 1,1-1,5 GB/s in windows, dont remember iOps

What are your suggestions for workloads this device can handle ?
- VMs, using it as a datastore, storing your files on it, heating your server up. This is “cheap” mass storage. Dont expect to be blow away by its preformance.
