It's very interesting, even if you only want to take out the drives and get rid of the libraries.

If I were there I would love to have the full system in my lab :D

The other 12 lots are for boxes of tapes to go in it, 20 per box, 8.5TB per T1000T2 tape (if I got google right), so just 170TB per box.

Sadly I don't have room for 4 giant racks in my house and if I did I suspect the floor would bend and they'd end up in the basement by accident.

You cannot use those with LTO drives.

Clearance: All lots must be removed by appointment with the auctioneers only.

And you need an ID to access the site.
Just a driver's license or similar, nothing special, just to prove who you are.

Basically you'd be collecting from the BBC so you can't just roll up at any time you like and say "I'm here for the big b*stard tape thingy".

I imagine they'd expect buyers to use an IT removal company anyway.
