That is a nice system for that price! I wonder if we can find compatible drive bays.

Apparently the dell ones work, but the drive lights do not line up with the LEDs.

I just hope they aren't super loud. That can be worked through. The OCP Windmills are so quite though. Also I like the dual 2.5" trays in the back of these. Good design I think for my planned use.

Anyone who received theirs, do these have the expander or 1 to 1 backplanes?

Mine still do not show as shipped yet.

I got 4 x E5-2670 through esiso.

I also got 48 x 8GB DIMMS through this listing. It is listed at $99 for 8 DIMMS, I asked for $92 x 6 for 48 total DIMMS, (Which I got. $11.50 per DIMM is pretty good.)

Samsung 64GB 8x8GB 2RX4 PC3L 10600R DDR3 ECC REG Server Memory M393B1K70DH0-YH9

It doesn't look like I will get all of the parts in until about the 18th or 19th of May. Hopefully I can get everything function on the weekend of the 21st/22nd.

There's another thread with these. I returned mine for a number of reasons (plus damage from poor warehouse handling). BIOS is slow.... makes supermicro seem like insta-boot. Good luck setting the boot order or uefi boot reliably.

First gen motherboard, ipmi sucks, enjoy the root backdoor you can't change the password. No fan control (yes, I tried everything) extremely loud. Riser card does not support gpu's (it may, but quanta has a special part for it). Chassis is flexible.
. In a bad way. Made me concerned for damaging the motherboard. Doesn't hold a candle to any supermicro chassis.

Works great on esxi 6. 10gb, you will need Intel sfp's. I was able to flash the lsi to it mode.

Ok just got mine in today. It arrived with all 12 caddies so now I have 4 extra dell caddies (they are identical except circle vs square on the release button). The fans are a little loud but not bad enough to make me swap them. I couldn't reset the IPMI password so I just updated the BMC and that reset it. It does take a while to get past the BIOS. Chassis is plenty well built I feel.

The Backplane is 1to1 (8bays connected to the LSI2008, 4 to the Intel C602) plus 2 sata ports for the 2.5" bays.

I got one as well, not all that bad for the price. I updated the BIOS & BMC to the following:

BIOS: S2RS_3A27
BMC: 3.76

Didn't seem to want to take anything higher than that, probably because their is a different board, I would guess a version2 to support e5-26xx series procs. Seems the newer BMC/BIOS is a larger size file on the Quanta site. Works fine for v1 procs, which is what we purchased them for, so no big deal there.

However I did try v2 procs and the system wouldn't post.

Mine also came with all 12 caddies as well in perfect condition with no damage to the system at all.

I got my two servers delivered yesterday.

Quanta S210-X22RQ

I have not had time to test anything out, and probably won't be able to until the weekend.

I will get a better picture of the LSI card and 10G mezz card when I get home tonight.

12 x 3.5" trays included.
2 x 2.5" rear trays included.
Inner rails included, but sadly no outer rails. These might be comparable with some of my other rails.

Also, does anyone have some links on how to update the BIOS / BMC for these?
