What's the cheapest this is going for currently?
My offer of $375 + $25 shipping was accepted on this listing a few days ago: eBay.

The listing says it doesn't have rack ears which is disappointing but I had offered 400 on the other listing currently at $695 + $50 shipping with the ears, but it was never responded to and it expired.

You should send a message to the seller and include a "message to buyer" when paying, requesting ears. I think there may be some misinformation between the seller and the warehouse folk of that reseller as mine came with rack ears even though the listing says they didn't include them and bethanie said they were currently out. No guarantees though.

Speaking of 1GbE, I can't seem to make mine work with any of the SFPs I've tried so far. My interfaces seem to be locked to 10GbE. How exactly did you get them working?

I've tried modules from HP, Cisco, Finisar, and various knockoffs I've got lying about. None seem to be recognized.

I'm running on 1.2.0.18

The manuals J Hart linked reference setting interface speeds, but the commands don't seem to work for the LB6M

Nothing special at all. Plugged and went (Mine were optical though, not BaseT). I'll get a model during downtime if it's important.

Huh; wonder if it doesn't recognize BaseT SFPs. Has anyone gotten it to work with copper? Like tby, I'm keen to eliminate some of my gigabit BaseT switching by consolidating with the LB6M.

Love to have some information on using 1Gb optical SFPs on these. Tried a handful and can't get them to talk. Somewhat kills my plans with it if I can't use them.

I still can't get this thing figured out for 1GB links of any type. Can anyone who has successfully used them share some details?

FW version you're on, port config, Module type etc. It would be greatly appreciated!

I'm on FW 1.2.0.18, and have tried GLC, and just about every variety of HP module as well.

Apologies for the double post, but I've been trying this for a good bit now. I'm fairly confident that this device doesn't support 1GBaseT at all. Unfortunate, as it would have been excellent as an intermediary as I transition the home lab systems from 1 to 10.

A few people mentioned that they were able to get 1G to work, but apparently I'm missing the magic recipe. I've tried all posted FW versions, and over 10 different SFP modules with no luck at all.

Anyone want to buy an LB6M, light use, has rack ears ;)

Hi,

I received my LB6M as well, but went into some performance issue. I'd be appreciated if someone can point me the direction.
I am using Mellanox 10GbE connectx adapter with Nebula DAC cable, no performance issue when I connect 2 servers back to back with these adapters and cables, however if I connect them to the LB6M, I only see 29Mb/s on the iperf!!! I am thinking whether the adapters are not compatible with the switch.
Please advise.
Thanks!

Never mind, I fixed it by switching the 10G adapter to another pci-e slot. Probably the IRQ issue.

Is there a cli reference for this switch? I can't seem to get anywhere, no commands work. can't even get into config mode. :(

Yea, I downloaded that but it doesn't seem to apply to this switch. Maybe I'm not understanding something. The # symbol is used throughout but it generates an error on my switch. (Ethernet fabric) is not the prompt I'm seeing. Most of the show commands don't work.

Enable and config have passwords and I don't know what they are. Can you tell me how to reset the switch to factory defaults? Will this remove the passwords?

If you're entering the # as part of your commands, don't. It's an indicator of what privilege level your cli is currently running in (apologies if this is obvious to you, no snark intended!). I've used the docs as reference when I was messing about with mine and they do work mostly outside of some L3 features which this device doesn't seem to have.

As for credentials, the defaults are 'admin' with no password for escalation to enable and config (just hit enter). If these don't work you can connect a console serial cable, and interrupt the boot process to enter uboot (Boot Menu I believe they call it) and there is an option to clear all config files. It uses a standard Cisco-style rollover cable (rj45 to DB9).

Thanks. I messaged the member I bought it from and hopefully will get the PWs. If not, l'll use the console. How do you interrupt the boot process?
