Mine is for sale from the US, and would ship internationally, but I have no idea if the shipping to Europe would still be in your "awesome deal" price range.

Receive also my Quanta LB6M today :)
Shipping from the US to The Netherlands for $240 ( €228 ) not to bad. Lucky no customs check, so not additional import costs.
The shipping duration was two weeks.

Time to play around with it ;).

Let me know how loud it is. It is supposed to be36-38dba vs the 50 something dba this switch is. Just not sure it is enough to warrant the difference in cost. It's got half the 10Gb ports, and costs alot more ($600) than what I paid for the used quanta ($170). I am lucky enough to have a utility room with a rack where I keep all my gear.

Well what i can say is it is quiet really quiet the one wich i do struggle is adopting controller.
The accesspoints and switches is on different subnets.

I buy several switches from them, also my LB6M.
There deliver quality and fast shipping.

redwing31, perfect! Thank you very much!

Quanta LB6M Firmeware upgrade process (image on TFTP server, switch has static IP address with working configuration):
show bootvar {to confirm the firmware you have)
I copied my most recent working version from active to backup
copy active backup
Transfer to image from TFTP server to backup
copy tftp://[IP address of TFTP server]/[file name]
confirm images are where they should be:
show bootvar
Boot system up with new firmware:
boot system backup
restart switch:
reload
Switch will go off line for roughly 100 seconds. After boot, confirm you booted the correct image:
show bootvar ("show run" also shows the firmware at the top of the confiration)
I install TFTPD32 : an opensource IPv6 ready TFTP server/service for windows : TFTP server on my pc and start it, then i ssh to the switch and follow the comands

Howdy,

Just received one of these switches as well. I am hoping its super simple to run it as a pure switch I am looking to connect my freenas and esxi server to it and maybe a workstation.

Sadly since I can not seam to find any reference to connecting to a router with a sfp port I will use port 25 as the link to the router via standard 1gbe

Any advice

Thanks

So I took the plunge after reading this forum and am awaiting my delivery tomorrow.
I read the 1st 20 pages of this thread so far, and the last 2-3. There is a lot to take in. I already have new fans to change out the existing ones, and ordered a cable to get to the interface. My requirements are simple as I have 2 windows servers and 1 vmware server. Cards are ready and installed.
I just want to confirm..
Parts 1-24 are SPF+
Ports 25-28 are 1GB ethernet correct? Plan to use these to connect to existing switch.
The console port is where I plug in my management cable to serial adapter correct?
What are the 2 management ports used for?

Thinking I should have splurged and got the LB8 for the web interface. Then again I am hoping the switch is at defaults and plugging in a few cables to intel 520DA1/DA2 should get things working and leave the reset for the future.

Love this site. Only recently found it, and there is so much in here to learn.

To manage the switch via cli with telnet/ssh over LAN. Plug one of these into a LAN port.

Much appreciated Drewy. I missed that the management ports could be used for telnet.
Clears things up 100%

Why you don't connect router trough 10 Gbit also ? I wait my switch LB8 to artrive and after that everything will be connected at 10Gb to it including router...

I received my switch today, and it's no lie. This thing is LOUD. too loud for a home switch, even in my basement.
I installed new 40mm fans (4000rpm), but the airflow is actually not enough even from a first try. The ?cpu? socket gets hot, and I can see that it needs more air.
I then went back and put some Noctura low noise adapters on the power supplies (resistors). They seem to create some noise but I can still feel some air flow in the power supplies (I'm calling it good).
The 3 fans at the back, I have a problem. I read here that people put 4000rpm spinners, but I don't see how that could be enough airflow without frying things. I am with Jonathan/jmoll that putting 120mm fans seems to be the best way to keep airflow going with less noise.
I was hoping there was a way to put a resister to slow down the rear fans (less airflow than stock, but not what a 4000rpm fan puts out). The problem is that the rear fans are 4 pin fans and it can't be done.

I am guessing everyone else is living with the noise.

Hey everyone. So I am adding an LB6M to my server rack and want to connect a few workstations to 10GBE as well as my NAS. We currently have HP 2530-48G-POE+ switches, all stacked via fiber uplinks. I want to link LB6M and one of the HP switches together for 10GBE connectivity between the switches. I linked them together and if I enter show port 0/24 it says 10GBE enabled, but there is no network access if I plug in a 10GBE DAC to say, port 1. I have enabled all ports.

Is there a WEB UI for the LB6M?

Anyone know how to recover a LB6M from a corrupt image on flash? It boots to u-boot and tries to boot the image off the flash, but it's corrupted somehow. Image2 is completely absent.

I set the IP and TFTP an image from the server, but it won't boot it. Anyone know what I may be doing wrong?

I do a dba test here with my Quanta LB6M and it was 55dba 1 meter away.
On the case it was 65dba and close to the back 73dba.
I considered a lb6m for my homelab, but 73 db is too loud. Are there soud proofed enslosures just for switches or routers?
