I´m having issues with any SFP/SFP+ on LB6M !!!

None of these works....

running lastest version (final 18).

what´s de command to show info about sfp/sfp+ (vendor, rx/tx signal, etc).

Thanks

I use the follow transceivers Finisar FTLX8571D3BCL and there works perfect!
Also i tested AOI A7EL-SN85-ADMA and INTEL E10GSFPSR-SO and works

I have finally joined this fun little club..

I got the LB6M and also an LB4M to aggregate all my 1GB traffic. In the background: my little Netgear 1G switch looking sad, saying "I can still make you happy! You don't need speed, take things slow and enjoy the journey!"

For anyone looking for an LB6M in the UK or near the UK, I got mine from 3d-systems.co.uk for the really rather good price of £200 including VAT + £10 for next-day UPS delivery. Given they were being sold for $300 (£240) in the US recently, this is rather great. And that's with dual PSUs and rack-ears. The LB4M was only £75 and came with two free SR transceivers.

Those prices were when I was ordering a couple of 10G NICs at the same time, so might be slightly higher for one switch on its own. Note that they don't have the LB6M listed on their site or eBay store, and items they do have listed are anywhere from 50-100% higher priced than they will sell them to home users. You need to contact them for the good pricing.

If anyone does order one, speak to Toby Jennings (toby@) and tell him that TomJ from Brighton sent you :) (I bugged him for several days with a number of questions so I'd like him to know it was worth it ;) )

Anybody uses QPF+ to SPF+ convertor on the LB6M?

I cannot ping Mellanox Connectx-3 VPI HCA through the convertor.
But direct connection of two SPF+ ports via DAC works.

The MAC address of the Mellanox port is displayed with

show mac-addr-table on the switch. I have no idea why I cannot ping it.

I just pickup myself up a sister switch to the Quanta. It's a Delta Broadcom Anatel ET-DT7040. Same os and feature set. Came with the x.x.x.18 FW. This one has hot swap fans in the back and is layed out a bit different but is based on the same chipset and software. I have the same modules as most here. Fastpath Routing and Fastpath QOS. Works perfect with the Finisar sfp+ modules and also the 3m cisco DAC cables that came free with my Mellanox Connect 2 cards. $37 for 2 cards and 2 dacs on flea bay. These switches have rear to front airflow so when mounted as TOR switches, the airflow matches the rest of the equipment in the rack. The switch was $300 delivered. UnixPlusCom is the seller if anyone is interested.

I have two LACP groups configured and working well, one is a trunk group to my Ubiquiti Unifi 48 switch the other is to a Poweredge R510 with 2 mellanox cards running Windows server 2016 datacenter. I have plans to setup a few vlans and vlan routing with LACP groups inside the vlans. I ordered 4 of these to quiet the beast down. (1 spare) Top Motor 40x28mm 12V 9000 rpm PWM fan with connector #DF124028BL-PWMG | Coolerguys

Love the forum, lots of good info.

Thanks,
Kirk

Apparently mine is the exact same physically as a Powerconnect 8024f, based on the pictures I see of the 8024f. It looks like I ordered the wrong fans. The ones I ordered are 4 wire, and the Dell style switch uses 3 wire hot swap fans. I have 4 of the 4 wire style that fit the Quanta if anyone wants them.

@CappyKD
Looks interesting...do you mind uploading the fimware and posting some details (e.g. "show version", "show sysinfo", "show environment")?
On ebay they claim the ports support 1GbE - as far as I know the LB6M doesn't (no one had success / no one knows which tranceivers make that possible) -> did you test that with your delta?

Sorry, I have not tested any 1GBe functionality as I don't have any appropriate gbics. The reseller Unix Surplus has a teardown video now on You-Tube of both the Quanta and the Delta.

Here is the Show Ver, Environment, and Sysinfo. I will upload the FW later tonight or this weekend.

Anyone had luck with LACP-LAG between this and a Huawei switch?
I have two Huawei S5700S-28X-LI-AC's , both configured with LACPs(default vlan 1, untagged).
I also configured LACP-LAG on LB6M using the following commands:

Code:
interface 0/23
addport 1/1
exit
interface 0/24
addport 1/1
exit
interface 1/1
no port-channel static
vlan participation include 1
exit
The LACP-LAG works between the two S5700S's but not when I connect either to LB6M. I wonder what I missed ?

Can I get someone to remote onto my PC and set this switch up to work line a normal switch? I just want it to communicate with my 1GBE network and have 3 runs off of the LB6M to a File Server and another Server.

That should work without any setup. Have you tried?
