As the title asks,
I'm wanting to use one of the 10G SFP+ ports to connect to an older 1G switch that I have, and I'd like to use a pair of older regular 1G SFPs.

Does anybody know if I can use older 1G SFPs in the 10G SFP+ expansion port ?

Or should I just buy a media converter and use one of the standard RJ ports ?

So I couldn't get this to work with 3 seperate switches. It seems as though the LB4M simply doesn't recognize older 1G SFPs (that work on all 3 other switches I have).

So I went and ordered a TP-LINK MC220L Gigabit Media Converter from amazon.ca for $22 (free shipping!). So, I'll just use that to connect my other side of my network, which now leaves me with a "free" 10G port on my switch. Bonus for $22!
