What is the best memory to use with this? I have tried a number of different combination of DDR4 and can't get this thing to even post. I get nothing over VGA on my screen - I am assuming it must be memory related since I got the version with no HDD or Memory. I have tried Corsair, Samsung, Sk Hynix. Would love to hear what the OEM is or what people are using to actually get something over VGA so I can install pfSense.

I'm using 32GB Crucial CT32G4SFD832A in one of those units.

Thank you. I am thinking I may have a bad unit. I am getting nothing out of the VGA port - just black screen. The power button also doesn't do anything and I don't see any flashing lights for the HDD light. Is that normal? I cant get into the BIOS to check settings because nothing comes on the display. Hoping memory solves all these issues and this thing is just touchy with what memory you can use because I have tried 5 different kinds of DDR4 already with no luck.

IIRC first POST takes quite a while - there's a list of supported/tested memory with times to first post (some with way over 1 minute to first POST!). Crucial were the most compatible and fastest to post, hence I went for one of those.

You will hear a beep when it posts. Before that, I think that it sits on a black screen, yes. I rarely have a screen connected to it though so I'm can't say for certain that this is the case.

never had any screen connected to it, so I also can't comment on that...
But should be the same as over serial console and what "time to POST" already indicates - it will show nothing until POST. I.e. only a black screen/console or even no signal at all on the vga or hdmi port.
