if you need by-id ... you have to recompile and disable libblkid :D

and proxmox 4 is zol 0.6.4 level :p

I did a fresh install and my pool does not have /dev/disk/by-id ( a bit annoying)

However, the installer did not use the who disk on sdc sdd and partition space for grub_bios.... I have no idea /dev/sdd9 is use for...

and the PVE 4.0 uses 0.6.5.3 package... I guess it is the installer script did not import the pool by disk-id

yap, no more by-id, due on ZoL greater than 0.6.3 use libblkid that handling persistent sdX.
old style of sdX is gone since libblkid is used by ZoL after 0.6.3..

sdx9 is common :D. since the partition is GPT....
sdx9 is a small size.
you can ignore sdx9


as I mentioned.. since 0.6.4, zol using libblkid by default that mapping sdx persistently(and smartly)..

have fun with ZoL, back up!!! when you plan to update or messing something due on curiosity:D

blame to ZoL due on using libblkid hahahha :D

I thinkg movung to libblkid would help us during troubleshooting.. this is just my opinion..

I have no idea why ZoL set libblkid to disabled on previous release. they had to be some reason, oh well..

check on ZoL mailinglist (or forum)....

PVE devel mailing list is active , the forum is not active!

just my suggestion that reflected my ZoL Journey:
if you know basic linux filesystem, kernel and admin, those would boost you to undertands ZoL very quick

I was thinking, maybe making a hyperconverged forum. OpenStack, Proxmox, Nutanix and others... thoughts?

if you want, just create a new sub forum for un*x flavor

ovirt would be a challenging in the future when mature :D. fully open source backed by redhat and the gang and many features are added.

proxmox is kind of do it yourself unless you willingly to pay subscription :D

I am ok with proxmox due using linux KVM and other techs that are common to find the detail.
