Proxmox 5.3 is released. See here: Proxmox VE 5.3 released!

Biggest new feature for me is integration of CephFS, file storage on Ceph. Also lots of updates to the GUI, fine tuning of features, etc.

I "upgraded" a system by mistake last night doing routine maintenance. Didn't even notice I had done it until I saw the announcement this morning on the Proxmox site and went back and looked - yup, its running 5.3. Haven't found any issues so far...

"If you are adventurous, you can configure PCI passthrough and vGPUs via the GUI."

Interesting!

Thanks!
I'm pretty curios how the PCIe passthrough works in the GUI. I've used it from the CLI before.
The CEPH upgrade is interesting as well.
Just upgraded, I'll see how thing go.

Has anyone seen PCIe passthrough in the GUI like @mbosma said? I upgraded and wanted to passthrough a M2 drive and I didn't see a way to.

PCI passthrough does work but is no turnkey option yet for all cases.
I could not choose to passthrough the device as pci-e, also GPU passthrough required some cli work.
In case someone is banging their head against a wall, here's my setup for gpu passthrough:
Code:
bios: ovmf
bootdisk: virtio0
cores: 8
cpu: host
hostpci0: 81:00.0,x-vga=1,pcie=1
hostpci1: 81:00.1,pcie=1
machine: q35
81:00.0 is the GPU itself and .1 is the HDMI audio device.

This is interesting development. I've dabbled with PVE a few times, but never put it to real use. Really glad to see the progress they are making...
