Since there isn't a subforum for memory I'll take a chance and post this here.

So I got my hands on 4 x : KVR13LR9D4/8HC (32GB of memory in total)

Memory Search | Kingston

But I've tried using them With every motherboard I have available atm, but none of them wants to boot with this ram installed.

The motherboards I've tested are:

SuperMicro X9SRL-F
SuperMicro X9SCM-F
Gigabyte G1.Sniper M3
Asus P8Z77-M
AsRock FM2A85X Extreme4-M

Is this some weird type of memory that only works on extremely specific motherboards?

Yes. You got Registered ECC DIMMs. You need unregistered DIMMs (UDIMMS) for the LGA 1155 platform.

It is a fairly common mistake to make zicoz, luckily very easy to remedy!

If you by chance want to unload them, PM me.
Haha yea I just made the same mistake. I bought some more of these sticks and realized today that my new builds are C206 based and I cannot use Registered DIMMs.

Will have an updated FS thread next week. :(
