Hi,

Apologies if this has been asked before.

I'm slightly confused on what I need to power the X11SDV-8C+-TLN2F using just a 12v brick, anyone doing it, what did you use?

Thanks.

Supermicro use a 120w brick in their SYS-E300-9D systems

Part number MCP-250-10127-0N

EDIT: found this: P4-DC Jack Cable, anyone using it (in the STH article about the board "Bill" comments that he uses the 4-pin but gets random shutdowns)?

I probably won't get a brick from Supermicro, expensive and difficult to source in Australia, any ideas on the cable I need from the board to the brick?

Say I get this:

120W 12VDC 10A Desktop Style Switchmode Power Supply | Jaycar Electronics

Then I need a 8-pin (EPS) 12V plug (attaches to the JPV1 header) to 5.5/2.1mm DC socket, google isn't turning up much there?

I'm thinking I'm going to have to hack together a cable.

Aargh, what is this connector, how do I get a cable that connects from JPH1 to the 4-pin molex on CBL-SAST-0956?

JPH1 - 4-pin Power Connector for HDD use

Thanks!

I don’t have the X11 but for same purpose I hacked a cable, just found spare things I didn’t need and cut the cables on both, soldered together and some heat shrink wrap over it all good. Lucky I had what I needed in my random cable and parts bin/box.

Thanks Evan.

Do you have a photo, or even a description of what you used, which motherboard, what is the rough peak load wattage?
