i was just browsing around regarding an old problem and found a few posts regarding disabling vt-d in bios for X58 to allow S3 sleep to work with using the latest win10 after the 1709 update.... my old x58 dell t5500 is not currently with me so i can't test it out.... was hoping maybe someone here can test it out?

apparently this supposedly fix s3 sleep problem for even older xeon stuffs before the x58....

please leave an update if you test it. it will be a while before i can get to test it on my t5500

I have confirmed that this fix works on both 1366 x58 workstations i have, Hp Z800 and Dell T5500. Installed the latest 1809 ltsc build and they awake from s3 sleep perfectly after disabling vt-d and vt i/0.

Note that this might interfere with secure boot, etc.
