Hi All

I wish to build a system similar to this:
Zeus V2 : U-NAS NSC-810A | X10SL7-F | E3-1265 V3

As @K D is using an Supermicro X10SL7-F, i'm looking to replace this with something new.

Was looking at the X10SRM-F (but the X10SRM-TF is too costly for my budget).

The main reason is i would like a NAS with all the basic features plus run many Virtual machines, Plex etc.

The 32G limit on the X10SL7-F is concerning and would like to run at least 64GB or above.

Is the X10SRM-F a suitable replacement/upgrade to the X10SL7-F (which seems to be a very popular MB), also could anyone recommend a decent CPU to run with this.

I was thinking of:
Xeon E5-2620/2670 (possibly 8 core) - looking to spend around (£200-£300).

Would this work on the board and also would this MB fit in this case:
U-NAS NSC-810A mATX Chassis

Open to suggestions, thanks for all your help (and if you didn't realise from the post above, i'm based in the UK :) )

Can't the E3 V5's do 64GB RAM?

I still think if you could do a Ryzen build with 64GB non-ecc that'd still be sick.

@OBasel

Apologies if i have my info incorrect but reading up i see:

I think the x10srm boards max memory can hit 512GB Ram.
The E5 2670 max memory is 384GB whereas the E3 V5 max is 64GB???

Also the E3 V5 socket type is LGA1151, whereas the x10srm board holds LGA2011.

Dont think i can use th E3 processors??

Hi All
I've seen this page from Supermicro:
UP Xeon Motherboards | Motherboards | Products - Super Micro Computer, Inc.

and can see why the x10sl7-f is so popular!!!
It also includes SAS connection

I have a couple of SAS drives, I would also add to my case so will need this on the motherboard.

Now I'm thinking the:

x11ssl-cf or the x11ssh-ctf may be the way to go.

Don't really have the need for 10gbe so may well go with the x11ssl-cf as its a lot cheaper than the x11ssh-ctf.

Does anyone have any experience with this board???

Looking at this thread, I think my mind is swayed :)
What to buy: E3-12xxL v3 vs V5
