Pingdom is shutting down its free monitoring service. What are people using instead? Anyone doing a roll your own?

    UptimeBot?

Agreed. Been using the free tier of UptimeRobot for a few years and it's been very handy.

EDIT: Figured I'd check my dashboard while I was mentioning it and their website is down... Oh the irony.

Several years back - when I was deeply involved in deploying IPv6 on a very large scale - UpTimeRobot.com impressed me by being very attentive to getting IPv6 testing "right". I've used them ever since - free at home, paid tier for an employer.
