Saw a few things on ebay this morning:
1. 2U Pentium G620 server, currently 0 bids, no reserve $55. Not a really fancy setup, but for $55, would not make a bad box. Could probably add $40 of RAM and have it be a decent, low power, PXE booting machine.
2. IBM M5014 seem to be $130 shipped right now. Another seller (I think a member here) has PCI brackets for $9 shipped. So for $140, correct me if I am wrong, that's a 256MB cache LSI 2108 based controller. Looks like 10 or so more available.
Less exciting (more like my watch list)
3. Supermicro 743i-R760B for a bit too much. Currently one open box, allegedly unused, unit for about 10% under normal retail price (including shipping.) Guessing this one will go lower.
4. Not super great, but I saw Beach Audio has the LSI 9207-8i for $279 shipped. Looks like an ebay picture mistake. Add in ebay bucks (about $5.50) and that is about 10% lower than Newegg on the non-kit version.
5. IBM M5015 for $395 OBO shipped.
