Passthrough disk and volumes yes, but you cant pass through controllers. However, this isnt really a disadvantage IMO because with ESXi you have to give a single VM control of the entire controller whereas with HV you can setup the controller in Windows and setup a RAID5 and pass that entire volume untouched to one VM and create a second RAID10 volume and pass that entire volume to a second VM.

nitrobass24 is exactly right. Hyper-V allows volumes and disks to be passed through. This actually makes quite a bit of sense since Windows really relies upon hardware RAID instead of software RAID. Furthermore, Hyper-V is great for Windows based VMs but not as good for Linux, FreeBSD, or Solaris based VMs. As a result, there are fewer cases where one would want or need to pass a controller through to the VM instead of passing through the disk or volume.

Im sure we can get a couple of guides going. If Patrick doesnt want to do all of them I can do a couple this spring when my busy season is over at work. But this ought to get you started :)

Just right click on your drive and choose offline. Then in the VM properties choose physical disk.

That's exactly the "money" pic. Any guides you want to do, let me know. sub.mesa seems to be making lots of sticky post fodder these days and if you wanted to make a main-site guide that is cool too.
