Nice utility efschu2, I didn't know it.
It gives the same output than cpufreq so it has to be correct, also checked versus the processing done by the host which confirms it is at a lower clock than before applying zenstates. So, the higher power consumption was not becuase of higher clocks.

Be nice to have a on click script like in Linux for windows 10 to run dual cpus with zenstates all in windows startup anyone made one? rather than change processor affinity on Asus srv each time.

Thank you for xdregox for highlighting the change of DID to 2, (and also to Nero and all the other contributors )

The following works on our system

python zenstates.py -p0 -f 21 -d 2 -v 4F --c6-disable

P0: Enabled - FID = 21 - DID = 2 - VID = 4F - Ratio = 33.00 - vCore = 1.05625

our 7281 seems stable at 3.3GHz with Vcore 1.06 (but only 12 hours so far)
We run with hyperthreading off
echo off > /sys/devices/system/cpu/smt/control

This is 100% load on all 16 cores
lm-senors reports core temp as 38C with the room AC on, and 42C with the room AC off. In our Gigabyte R181-Z90 - MZ91-FS01U case there are 8 fans blowing over the VRMs ( the fans aren't screaming so maybe the VRMS aren't hot -we don't know how to measure them) , and we have a Noctua 14S sticking out the top of the case.

I guess it could go a bit higher ?

just in case its useful to others:

We checked the VRM temp via the IPMI/BMC on a Gigabyte R181-Z90 - MZ91-FS01U
The VRM temp it was 30 to 35 C at full load.

We have overclocked this 7281 CPU to 4Ghz with 1.3V

python zenstates.py -p0 -f 28 -d 2 -v 28 --c6-disable

Current P0: Enabled - FID = 69 - DID = A - VID = 5E - Ratio = 21.00 - vCore = 0.96250
Setting FID to 28
Setting DID to 2
Setting VID to 28
Locking TSC frequency
New P0: Enabled - FID = 28 - DID = 2 - VID = 28 - Ratio = 40.00 - vCore = 1.30000

It has been stable for about two weeks with CPU temps always < 45 C and VRM always <40 and the case fans are always running at less than 50%

Wow, great thread.

Can someone advise what kind of performance I could expect out of dual 7551's on a Supermicro H11DSi-NT with Noctua NH U9's (250W TDP) cooling them? Would be running 128GB DDR4 2666 ECC per node (8x8GB per socket), and would be running 24x7 so stability is key.

I'd like to see how high you can go with an EPYC 7002. Anyone plans to get one and test how high it can go?

So I've got access to 2 Epyc 7742 chips and I'm trying to run the modified ZenStates but I'm getting an unsupported CPU error. Any ideas on a way to fix?
