It's driving me nuts. I like it about ... half the time, but I'm quite happy to link my own URLs when it's appropriate.

But if I am trying to explain to someone how to publish PD Consulting and Security - PD Consulting and Security using Web Application Proxy and saying that the reverse proxy needs to listen for PD Consulting and Security - PD Consulting and Security and translate to an internal request to PD Consulting and Security - PD Consulting and Security - well ... thanks XenForo, now stop helping!

Code:
Code version of the above so you understand:

Note that using the BBCode editor still munges it - if the text of a URL is a URL, it'll still do the "retrieve page and extract Title" thing.

I think forcing off everywhere is totally uncalled for, dare I say, uncivilized - but I'd like to be able to tick a box for a specific post or response labelled "don't auto-format URLs".

So what say you folks?

Best to use code tags.

I do not think it is possible to turn it off per post.

Try putting your links inside the [plain] [/plain] BB code to disable the parsing.

Say, that looks promising! Thanks! That should save several brain cells and lots of the remaining hair.
