I'm searching for documentation about the supported memory speeds for socket F Opterons (Istanbul, 2400 series). They support up to DDR2-800 - but the memory speed is reduced when all memory slots are populated. There must be some documentation about it, but more than this info I couldn't found with Google. Has someone a hint? :)

On the Supermicro boards I had, speeds would drop to 533mhz. Pretty certain it's a chipset/memory controller limitation.

Of course it's a limitation, most possibly by the CPU's memory controller. I'm searching for the exact specifications - does it depend on the number of total DIMM ranks on a CPU's memory sticks?

There is a AMD specification PDF (number 45603) which is referenced in others - I hope that I will find the answer there. However, I can't find it anywhere. AMD's website is really bad if you are searching for old tech docs.
