There is a new OmniOS bloody 151025 available at (Mar 30.2018)
Downloads

This release contains many of the new features of next stable (due may 2018)
omniosorg/omnios-build

new main Features:
- new installer
- boot from Z2/Z3
- improved LX zones
- better support for AMD Ryzen
- Device/ vdev removal
- Poolwide checkpoints
- Improved ZFS recovery of damaged pools

Beware:
The new ZFS features can make a pool unusable on older systems without these features

As this update is a big one, it can make sense to test the new features early.
Up from today (18.01free, 16.03 pro and 18.06 dev), napp-it runs on this bloody. Support for the new features will be added in 16.06dev

I hope the upcoming encryption will become ready for this new release due the new and stronger EU security regulations (DSGVO) from may on that demand even a technical datasecurity at a state of the art level what makes encryption on storage and backup quite mandatory.

current state:
8727 Native data and metadata encryption for zfs by lundman · Pull Request #489 · openzfs/openzfs
