This is huge. Closest thing before was having Eurocom et al stuff server Xeons into a laptop chassis.

- Scheduled for fall

- Skylake 14nm

- ECC memory

- Thunderbolt 3 (USB C Phys with 40Gbps)

- vPro, etc

Frankly though, my Yoga 2 Pro is getting the sense that come Skylake Surface 4 Pro, its days are numbered... especially if there is a 16GB option.

there have also been several ODM laptops that take full size cpus and dimms.

almost bought one for a I7-2xxx with 4 dimms... no docking station so I got a latitude.

I hope there's a version they cut the gpu out entirely and add on to the cpu portion of the die, a 6 or 8 core mobile chip shouldn't be impossible this generation and would be a boost to some of these workstation applications.
