Odd file properties from files created using CIFS

I can access my ZFS Folders with NFS and CIFS both with full rw but when I create something from a windows computer and do a ls -alh from either the CLI on the server or on a NFS mount I get a whole lot of '?'s then the file name. I can "fix" it by doing a chown and chmod to the file but is there a way to just have the right properties set by default?

Ok I think I figured out what was causing it, ACLs were not set up right.
