I'm working on getting an ebay slecial, Seagate ST33000650SS with firmware 6FAA ready for use with an HBA in IT mode. (And Windows / Ubuntu)
The disk was formatted to 520b which I changed to 512b using SG_util. Still could not get it to format in windows. I'm now attempting to format it with the LSI SAS BIOS utility. When I opened it up in the utility it seems to constantly refresh. Here is a video of what happens.
I've removed the 3.3v pin just in case.
I was able to start the format and it's running. Any thoughts as to what would cause this? Am I in the right path to get this disk working?
