Has anyone got tips for not too expensive mSATA SSDs? I bought some more mSATA-IDE adapters but I don't have SSDs.

mSATA drives are sadly becoming increasingly rare (I've still got a couple of them in use). The only "named generic" devices that seem to be kicking around much these days (at least in the beleaguered UK) are Kingston KC600 and UV500 drives.
Other than that you're either looking at s/h (all of mine are Crucial M4, M500 or M550) or you're looking at the artificially expensive OEM-models from the likes of cisco, fujitsu or (what seems like) no-name OEMs like Origin Storage.
But as a niche form factor you're likely going to be paying a premium regardless.

I don't care about PLP as i'll be using them in REALLY old laptops (even my Compaq Contura 486 laptop has a SSD!)
There are still some new 860 evo msata on ebay if you want new and most updated ones. But since they are rare, a much higher price than m2.sata ones.
€39 with shipping & VAT for ~250GB mSATA SSDs is quite expensive, no? Used pulls from OEM machines.
