I'm on 3.20 and 1.19, had a new BMC chip send to me too, wouldn't update. I still don't see any data in System Inventory.
Running a 7313P

You need to get the L3.24 BIOS from support to make the 1.19 BMC work. It's on their FTP server. Ask for the username and password.

On the L3.24 BIOS, do you see the option to select ‘OnBoard/External VGA’?

I cannot find this BIOS option anywhere in the L3.20 firmware. It’s there in the ‘Chipset’ section on BIOS version 1.30 that I have on all my EPYC 2nd Gen systems.

Unless it’s been moved elsewhere and I just can’t find it?

You can only show this option if you enable the CSM (Compatible Support Module). Unfortunately this option (Video Output) seems buggy, because after the POST the video output will change to PCI VGA if You have one. If You use linux a workaround is a kernel commandline parameter:

No, you are correct. It isn't there in the L3.24 BIOS. I looked for it also. I have it in my EPYCD8 BIOS for my 7402P system.

Makes it difficult when you have multiple gpus installed. It defaults to slot 1 if occupied. So you have the console output on that card and to be consistent with seeing the splash screen and boot sequence before transitioning to loading the OS desktop, you have to move your monitor output to slot 1.

Checked again. Yes, you have the option to choose between Onboard VGA and/or PCI VGA, BUT you don't have any choice of which PCIE slot you want to use as the external VGA for output.

Not like I have with the BIOS for the EPYCD8 mobo I have also.

Checked again. Yes, you have the option to choose between Onboard VGA and/or PCI VGA, BUT you don't have any choice of which PCIE slot you want to use as the external VGA for output.

Not like I have with the BIOS for the EPYCD8 mobo I have also.

Thanks. I have the option to select the primary VGA slot with BIOS 1.30 on my ROMED8-2T systems with EPYC 2nd Gen CPU.

Did you guys find a solution for using Redfish to manage the ASRock? I can't get logged into my ROMED8-2T using any of the Redfish tools. They all say 401 permission denied.

I have no trouble reading the endpoints that do not require authorization like:

https://<ROMED8-2T>/redfish/v1/$metadata
https://<ROMED8-2T>/redfish/v1/odata
https://<ROMED8-2T>/redfish/v1/

But any endpoint that requires authorization just fails miserably.

My board came with the following:
  • Firmware Information
BMC Firmware Version1.19.00
BIOS Firmware VersionP3.20
PSP Firmware Version0.C.0.7D
Microcode Version0830104d

When the board boots, it shows BIOS P3.20 with date of March 2021. The 3.20 BIOS listed on the website shows a date of June 2021.
I haven't flashed anything yet, should I? Is the P3.20 the latest and the date is just different between the website and boot-up?

Also, this is the 1st time I heard of Redfish, how do I get a list of endpoints I can try to probe?
When I tried to go to https://<ROMED8-2T>/redfish/v2/, the browser prompted for credentials, and once I entered correct login info, I got an error that v2 doesn't exist.

One issue I do have is that when I go to the BIOS configuration, none of the values reflect what the BIOS screen actually has:

Another odd issue I'm having is that when I remote control via browser or java, the keyboard doesn't work remotely, not even the on-screen keyboard:

The latest BIOS to work with the 1.19 BMC firmware is version L3.28.BMC.png
You can download it here. ROMED8-2T BIOS 3.28
For the Redfish command I was offered this reply.

"Our BMC team would like to provide these information and would like you to try the correct command “/redfish/v1/Systems/Self “, instead of ” /redfish/v1/Systems/1”. Thank you!"

From my IPMI interface, I have the link to the BIOS configuration from the main Dashboard in the upper status bar. Clicking on BIOS takes you to another session to login to the BIOS configuration menu. The menus don't have the full BIOS menus though, just the basics.

Thanks! I wonder if the Lx.xx BIOS means Lab/beta and Px.xx means public/production?

Are you able to control a remote session via keyboard/mouse? When I remote control I only see video output, keyboard/mouse on my laptop do not work on the remote screen, not even the on-screen keyboard...

From my IPMI interface, I have the link to the BIOS configuration from the main Dashboard in the upper status bar. Clicking on BIOS takes you to another session to login to the BIOS configuration menu. The menus don't have the full BIOS menus though, just the basics.
Hilarious, it was right there and for some reason I missed it!

But it's the same thing, the values shown are no what are stored in the BIOS, is this the case for you as well?

Thanks! I wonder if the Lx.xx BIOS means Lab/beta and Px.xx means public/production?

Are you able to control a remote session via keyboard/mouse? When I remote control I only see video output, keyboard/mouse on my laptop do not work on the remote screen, not even the on-screen keyboard...
I do everything from my daily driver a room away from the Epyc servers. Just use the keyboard/mouse on the daily driver to control everything on the remote host.

Nope, the settings the IPMI BIOS interface are the same as what I set in the BIOS. But as I stated, the full BIOS menus are not replicated in the IPMI BIOS interface. Some menus are entirely missing and some menus don't have the same depth of choices as the actual BIOS menus.

Just an FYI, my board had one of the 10gbe ports go bad a month ago, I've been in an RMA process with ASRock.

I was told that because of supply issues they have a different revision of the board with BCM57416 controller instead of the original Intel X550's. I was told everything else is the same.

They have a new page for the BCM version: ASRock Rack > ROMED8-2T/BCM
It requires different BIOS/BMC.

I'm still waiting on ASRock to ship me the replacement.

It's nice of them to contact me and ask whether I'd like the BCM revision instead of the Intel.

Does anyone have an input regarding the BCM57416 10gbe controller? Not must information available out there...
