Several years ago, I bought a Lenovo TS140 with entry level specs and have been happy using it as a light duty server running ESXi6 and now ESXi7 but it appears that VMware is going to drop support for Haswell CPUs soon. So I thought I'd buy a more recent prebuilt version of a Dell/HP/Lenovo in the mini-tower form factor but they don't seem to promoting them at the sub $400 price point.
Am I looking in the wrong places or has that segment evaporated?
Some of my VMs are NAS OSes with 3.5" hard drives (again, light duty cycle) otherwise I would consider one or more TMM machines. I suppose switching to Proxmox is a software option.
