Hello all,

I picked a few 825TQ-R720LPB Chassis they come with this Power distributor PDB-PT825-8824 and X8 motherboards
that distributor uses PWRI2C to monitor PSUs, but newer X9 motherboards use JPI2C1

Are there any X9 or X10 motherboards that use PWRI2C, is there a power distributor I can replace the PDB-PT825-8824 for that will work with JPI2C1,
or any ideas on how to upgrade these to something newer then X8 ?

thanks in advance

My PT825-8824 all have the standard PMBus connector that is present on nearly all Supermicro boards and hasn't changed since ages

please see X8DTN+ quick reference card , connectors: 19) PWR I C (J15) 39 Power SMB (I 2 C) Header
please see X9DR3-LN4F+ quick reference , connectos: 45) JPI 2 C1 45 Power Supply SMBbus I 2 C Header
my chassis: chassis: CSE-825TQ-R720LPBP-1 and backplane BPN-SAS-825TQ, also my 12 bay chassis on X8 Motherboards
both with the : 19-Pairs Power Distributor (PDB-PT825-8824)
I am trying to connect from the power distributor to 45) JPI 2 C1 45 Power Supply SMBbus I 2 C Header the cable wont fit

one alternative would be the power distributor PDB-PT826-8824 but is too expensive and more work,
if I purchase PDB-PT826-8824 the total cash with mobo cpu mem heatsinks is too high would be cheaper to buy them already assembled.

In a nutshell, I need a cheap way to upgrade my chassis which uses power distributor PDB-PT825-8824 to any X9 motherboards

thanks in advance

Could you please post a picture of the PMBUS connector of the 825TQ-720LPB chassis with PDB-PT825-8824 you have?

I feel like you've misunderstood how these things work.

Haha, oh well...

You basically tore the plastic socket (that is supposed to protect the pins) from another motherboard (I think "receptacle" is the right word)
On your second photo, you can nicely see the little lever on the PMBUS plug that unlocks it.

Try to push this lever and remove the plastic that surrounds the actual plug, you will then be able to plug it in...
Someone's definitely got a very unhappy mobo somewhere
