@keybored No, I just changed my mind on a couple things. I had a 4U Rosewill case + purchased some hotswap bays that both went back unopened because I found a good deal on eBay for a brand new 3U Supermicro case, a Supermicro X99 board that was open box and defective, a Noctua 4U cooler that I couldn't use anymore because it was too tall for 3U, and a desktop power supply that was tested and returned because I went w/ a rackmount w/ redundant PSs.

The Noctua is the only one left that hasn't completed their returns logistics process, I just noticed I still have the hex wrench on my desk, so we'll see what happens.

Fedex delivered my 4 S3700 drives ($200 each).
Checked SSD drives usage , 21TB , 21TB , 6 TB, 15TB.
Then updated firmware and secure erase each SSD drive.

Hey Marsh, what did you use to secure erase them?

Just wanted to chime in. Grabbed one of these at the $250 price point and it has just over 3TB of writes, 289 days powered on, and the warranty check site estimated the warranty is good through 2019.

That is pretty darn good. You only have around 14597TB of writes to go.

Wanted to pick a few more of these up but it still won't let me purchase via ebay... thought it would let me order after 3-5 days as another poster mentioned (which I am well past). Just got ebay 8% back offer today too :(

Yes, you could use linux to secure erase SSD.
I just use the Intel ToolBox to check and update SSD firmware, then secure erase the SSD with the same tool.
