I am not a fan (at all) of unboxing reviews of servers. I was planning on doing a mini-review though.

Got my 5u Workstation Tower. Nice piece, wife is literally going to kill me so I may have to sell it :/ . Dropped in 2 E5-2650 V3 ES and 2x 16GB DDR4 ECC and running aida64 stress test right now. so far temps are good with the provided heatsinks max temp I am seeing is ~68c running full out for about an hour now.
Good for you, the 2 x QEYN CPU work good in your ASUS server.

I'm mildly kicking myself for not getting that 5U mega workstation system. Still would've cost me $1k to deck it out completely with parts and then what am I supposed to do with all the upgrades I just got. I could not for the life of me find a viable solution that didn't involve redoing everything I just did these last 6 months only to gain 2 more PCI-Express x16 slots, an m.2, and onboard audio.
Would it be ridiculous for me to buy as my first real server ASUS RS926-E7/RS8 Server Barebone Quad LGA 2011 DDR3 1600/1333/1066-Newegg.com ? Seems like $500 is a pretty sick deal and I can just throw one processor in until I need more power.
I actually have a spare. PM me.
edit: It's the RS320Q-E7/RS12 that I have, not the RS720. I also have some of the other servers from this sale that I need to offload. Was buying for a colo project but they won't be a good fit.
