I would like to see if and how licensing is going to be changed for 2019 version regarding Storage Spaces Direct and Storage Replication. Hopefully it will be included in Standard version and maybe in Hyper-V Server ? :)

easier access and transfer to Azure.
Can you elaborate on this ? Any links ?

Hyper-V 2019 part or the whole Windows Server 2019 ?

@Nizmo can use hyper-V 2016 to host a 2019 guest no issues ? Or ESX or KVM ?
You should have any problems, unless you use something very specific what relies on the particular functionality of the vmbus. In other words for all standard usage it should be fine. Since Hyper-V 2016 you can have nested virtualization as well if you wish, however in my experience the performance is not that great but for testing/development it's perfect.

Storage Spaces Direct, Storage Replica is still Datacenter only I believe.
