Got me a Brocade Silkworm 200e 16 port 4/2/1Gbps FC switch for 80EUR including port license up to 12 ports, 12x 4Gbps FC gbic and shipping. Steal I say!
Indeed a nice add since I'm running couple QLE246x cards already host-2-host.

Ought to love one feature about this switch: I just doesn't care that fans are missing/"faulty" ie not in right RPM/A ranges :D
Just keeps going and doesn't power off.

Pictures tomorrow and hopefully this is in right-ish area.

Would love to see the progress on this and what adapters/ cables you use. Very fancy!

i'd love to see how it stacks up against IB and 10gbe ethernet! not just in speed, but features.

Dropped in some 3000rpm 40x40x20 fans and the switch didn't even report em as faulty or missing. "Yeah these will do" and turned on the fan speed control. The switch is pretty much inaudible.
Runs bit hot as after ~1hour of idling temps are around 51C, so i'll look into getting 5000-6000rpm fans. Originals were 11krpm deltas :p

So... pictures!

Like i said, the switch doesn't even care about the fans being downgraded "bit", no warning led blinking anywhere :D
