I just noticed they listed it as an 840 but model # shows 846... hmm

840 Model

25x Drive Writes Per-Day / 5 years
18PBW

For the 200gb/400gb it says.

Insane endurance for the $, and performance is not bad.

846 Endurance:
- 28x Drive Writes Per-Day / 5 Years
- 20 PBW

Either have insane endurance, the 846 has less performance though it seems.

1.8" drive so one does need to be a bit careful there. I have a s840 400GB in front of my keyboard now but it is a thicker 2.5" design.

I might guess 846 is a newer 1.8" spec because it has a HGST label and the s840 is an older drive usually that has STEC.

How can a micro sas drive connect to a mini sas interface controller? Can I use a micro sata to sata adapter and use it with a sas cable? Is tha ok?

It's doesn't work. You need to have IBM eXFlash 1.8-inch drive cage and backplane or Dell 1.8 inch SAS SSD backplane for these micro sas drives.
