Hello all! I have been reading the STH articles for awhile now and decided to finally join the forums in an attempt to expand my knowledge and have a great time. Well where to begin with my intro? For starters, I have always been curious about computers and the inner workings of them so about five years ago my wife (girlfriend at the time) gave me the ok to build a computer so i researched for months and bought the parts for my first rig (AMD 1100T and Radeon 6970). I watched a three part Youtube video done by Paul at Newegg and away I went building it and I have been hooked ever since lol.

I consider myself much more a hardware guy than software but I have tried to dabble in FreeNAS and Ubuntuu but primarily just stick to Windows. I enjoyed overclocking and watercooling a great deal but as my son has gotten older my time for those has diminished so now I rock an Intel HSF at stock speeds :( For quite awhile I ran two systems, my gaming rig and home server, but have recently consolidated my parts into just one machine to act as a gaming machine/plex server/whatever else I may try out.

About a year and a half ago I landed my first IT job as a Technical Support Specialist Trainee and have been having the time of my life with it. Now I pretty much handle all of the bench work for our small shop as well as help desk duties for our customers who we are their MSP. I just recently created my first VM using ESXI 6.0 and am happy to say I built the VM without getting fired haha. Hopefully joining this forum will help me to be able to ask some questions and further my goals of obtaining knowledge (and spending money on newer hardware despite the protests from my better half!). I apologize for the long winded post but glad to be here. Thanks!
