    Good price, seems they don't go for much more on eBay though

    Are those usually new? Good to know you can't get them much cheaper..
    Most of the other sources in Canada that I checked are all $200+ :(

    Just want to note that this is purely an HBA so doesn't do RoC AFAIK.

    Yes, just an HBA.. I'm mostly using it for connecting to my LTO4 Tape drive (and later on LTO6 drive).

    Someone who bought it off amazon put in their review that they used it for a ZFS on linux deployment with:
    Supermicro 847 45 drive 4U chasis, an LSI 9200-8e external SAS card, 2 Monoprice 2M SFF-8088 cables etc.

    This is a cheaper option that my usual route of m1015 + dual-port 8087 -> 8088 converter.

    I can usually pick these up for under $50 on eBay from time to time but them being brand new is pretty sweet so good find.

    Damn that is a good deal on that SFF 8088 cable. I've had some success with recyclers local to me that are selling used EMC, Hitachi, Netapp, etc parts. They have the cables from when they removed the equipment but think it is too much of a hassle to try and sell the cabling. I've picked up some 40GbE DAC cables for $2.50 each that way.

    Also if anyone would like an LSI-9201-16e, I have a spare that is sitting around collecting dust. Same thing as the 9200-8e except full height and twice the connections, 4 SFF-8088 external connectors. Also an HBA, not raid card. I use mine for attaching external DAC for ZFS.

    Those cables are really cheap but I've never heard of that brand before. Is there is a big difference in cables?

    My 2 arrived yesterday.

    New in "LSI BOX" but not a box I've ever seen from them.

    Pics coming shortly.

    FWIW The seller on amazon is also on ebay, but I don't know their username I've seen this shipping address though... LOL!!!

    Any links for cables with external SAS on one side and SATA breakout on the other?

    Ordered one of the adapters. Thanks, OP!

    I guess the only danger of posting in here is everything gets cleared out quick if it's a good deal! :) (I only needed one)
