Always wondered when we would see a major vendor ship Xeon-D.
I guess this is the new microserver as well.

Wonder if you can buy it without the services, looks like a nice box even if missing a bit on the expansion side of things but if it's well priced then HP can make some nice equipment.

It looks like you can't buy it without the cloud services (a pet peeve). Deliberately hobbled to avoid cannablising the low end ML series (two DIMM slots basically means you wouldn't bother with more than 32GB total, otherwise the RAM cost would outweigh the difference to the ML). Then HPE's current policy is "no updates without service contract" which means it's almost a no-go unless you're corporate, really.

I don't really see the point of the box, honestly.

ML are all rather large though. A new microserver with Xeon-D would be nice.

...how did this 4 year old thread suddenly came back to the top? Was it because of that 150 USD offer that popped up earlier this week?
